Media owner Bauer has announced that in April 2024 they will be rebranding a number of local radio
stations to Hits Radio.  Stations include Free Radio, Gem Radio, Hallam FM, Lincs FM, Metro Radio, Pulse 1,
Radio City, Rock FM, Signal 1, TFM, Viking FM and Wave Swansea.  Stations will keep their local breakfast
shows, local news and travel programming, while all other programming will be nationally run.  The Hits brand
is home to great presenters such as Sam Thompson, Fleur East and Gemma Atkinson.

Bauer’s CEO hopes the change will “seamlessly blend the best that local and national radio has to offer.”  This new local/national strategy from Bauer should bring huge traction for regional advertisers, increasing
