Matt, our Digital Account Manager, looks at the latest updates from Meta…
Well, Meta have certainly been busy! What a few days it has been for the social media giant…
We got a first-look at some incredibly stylish glasses, as they team up with fashion icons like Ray-Ban & Oakley.
We learned about their upcoming ad-free subscription plans for the UK & Europe.
We learned today that they have greenlit ads and content preferences based on users’ interactions with their AI tools, coming into effect in December.
But what does all of this mean for consumers, and advertisers?
Consumers: You’ll be venturing into a whole new virtual marketplace as the AI tech in your glasses will most certainly be feeding back search results, and your interests, adding new layers to your digital profile as Meta learns more about you through your own eyes… but will you be willing to pay £3.99 a month for the privilege of no ads, thus preventing the AI stealth content & ad. takeover??
Advertisers: One of the biggest questions we’re going to face is just WHO will pay £4 every month just to stop adverts on their social media feeds? The immediately obvious answer, in my mind at least, is our vital AB1 audiences – those who have the cash to splash on ad-restricting subscriptions like this (and Spotify, Netflix Premium, etc.) but make up the target persona for oh so many Meta campaigns!
